about the Artist

JUNG DAYEON

My thoughts move, leaving footprints with each step.
The new footprints that are taken in this way soon become
the past, and when numerous pasts gather in one place,
they indicate a direction. I want to move forward. I record
my wandering thoughts on an enduring medium, ceramics,
to track my direction. The footprints left behind might
all look different. However, to find my complete self that
remains unshaken by the world, I will continue to work
steadily, embracing change.

Korean Melon-shaped Bottle

I was deeply inspired by the national treasure <Celadon Korean Melon-shaped Vase>
at the National Museum of Korea. This is a work that I reinterpreted in my own style.
