CHO MIN YEOL
CHO MIN YEOL works with denim(jeans) among many materials.
Jeans stacked in multiple layers create natural grains through
carving and surface finishing. The results created through this
process make us think about ambivalent characteristics and allow
viewers to expand their interpretation of the material.
This process of the artist focuses on stimulating the user's
experience while also drawing interest in the material.

The Denim Grain series vases were created based on the visual characteristics
and materials of denim(jeans) among already discarded or worn-out clothing.
The work begins to be born from creating a natural grain in the cross-section
of the material. When you look at a single piece of fabric, the fabric focuses
on practical function, but when numerous fabrics become materials and are
stacked in layers, the cross-sections of the fabrics that are stacked in
this way reveal natural grains and wrinkles, which are reborn as fantastic works.
