about the Artist

PARK SUNWOU

The artist continues to work on building up colors with
porcelain clay. Using plasterboard, he builds up several
layers, cuts them, and creates three-dimensional shapes.
In his work, his concerns and experiments overlap each other
like the layers of a cross-section. He thinks about where
the shape will be placed and what kind of user it will
be used for, and listens to the small stories that users
tell him. He welcomes the communication surrounding his
work, and fills it with his own colors through everyday
language and experiences.

Accidental Moment_blue2

This series conveys the meaning that both the process and the result
are important through works in which the artist's intention and the
beauty that arises by chance during the creative process are harmoniously
combined. Artworks are born after multiple attempts, failures, and
experiments aimed at achieving the final result. However, there are
subtle beauties that occur unintentionally during this process, and this
beauty is also a special moment of joy that only the artist can experience.
